Will not surrender...

This illustration represents how I've been feeling lately. I'm also tying it in with this week's Illustration Friday theme "surrender". But we will not surrender our family planning because everyone else around us is having babies! I love them, I want them, but it's not the time for us. I'll just keep telling myself that...

  1. Very good illustration for a magazine. Readers instantly know to which feelings you refer.

  6. Be careful. In my experience, when you want babies really badly, your body has a way of making it happen, despite all of your precautions. Great illustration!

  8. This is a strong illustration, with great feeling! Hmmm...I've always been of the mindset, it is never a good time to have children, you have them if you want them, and everything else will fall into place, it has no other choice. And the body will even if the mind says no, especially for the mothering instinct. But, I truly understand the pressure. Been there, done that, know better...:) The best to you!

  10. I really like the expressions on the two women. What is so interesting is the choice of expression on each woman. The woman with the baby looks so happy and rested and fresh! The woman with the dog looks like she's the one that's been up all night with a baby! Perhaps it is a reflection of the yearning feelings of the woman with the dog idealizing life with a baby. I've been there and suddenly I had a son and then suddenly two more in the form of twins! I'm feeling more like the woman with the dog than the woman with the one baby!
